Get ready to unleash your creativity in the In Ya Kitchen Poster Competition! Launching on March 11th, 2024, this exciting contest is open to all young people aged 8-18. This year’s theme is “Snack Smart,” focusing on promoting healthy snacking habits among youth under the age of 18. (Closes 11 April)
Entries will be divided into three age categories: 8-10, 11-13, and 14-18, with winners announced separately in each category on April 27, 2024. The competition aims to inspire young individuals to make informed choices about their snacks and cultivate a culture of healthy eating.
Submissions are accepted until April 11, 2024 and public online voting will take place from April 12 -19 at the bottom of this page. Content Guidelines
- The theme of the poster competition is Snack Smart
- Posters should focus on promoting healthy snacking habits among young people (those under the age of 18).
- Posters should emphasize the importance of nutritious snacks that provide energy, essential nutrients, and support overall well-being.
- Posters must be creative in delivering the message, whether through imagery, slogans, or informational content and should include the phrase ‘Snack Smart’
- Posters must ensure the message is clear, engaging, and suitable for the intended age group.
Poster Specifications
- Posters can be created either by hand-drawing or using digital design software such as Power Point, Canva, or Photoshop.
- Hand-drawn posters should be scanned or photographed and submitted in a clear and legible format.
- Digital posters must be submitted as a JPEG, PNG, WEBP file format.
Age Categories
- Participants will be divided into three age categories: 8-10, 11-13, and 14-18.
- Each category will be judged separately to ensure fairness and relevance to the age group.
Originality and Authenticity
- All submissions must be original works created by the participant.
- Participants using digital design software must demonstrate that they did not use AI assistance by providing screenshots of their design process.
Submission Process
- Participants must submit their posters along with a brief explanation of the design concept and message conveyed.
- Submissions should include the participant’s name, age, and contact information.
- Entries should be uploaded to to the form below by the 11th April 2024.
Judging Criteria
- Creativity and Originality: How effectively does the poster convey the message of healthy snacking in an innovative and unique way?
- Clarity and Communication: Is the message clear and understandable? Does the poster effectively promote the importance of healthy snacking?
- Visual Impact: How visually appealing and engaging is the poster? Does it attract attention and captivate the viewer?
- Relevance to Age Group: Is the content appropriate and relevant to the targeted age category?
- Overall Presentation: Does the poster demonstrate attention to detail, neatness, and overall presentation quality?
- Public vote: the extent of public engagement and support for the poster, as determined by the number of votes received during the public voting period. The public vote will contribute to the final score, reflecting the poster’s appeal and relevance to the broader audience.
Prizes and Recognition
- Winners from each age category will be selected based on the judging criteria.
- Prizes will be awarded to the top submissions in each category.
- Those in each category with the highest number of public votes will receive a people’s choice award.
- Winning posters may be displayed in schools, community centres, or other relevant venues to promote healthy snacking habits among young people.
Deadline
- The deadline for submissions is 11th April 2024
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Public online voting will take place from April 17th – 24th at the bottom of this page.

- Winners will be announced on 27th April 2024
